Grid-EYE’s detection concept can be illustrated in the following sequence shown here. After the thermopile array absorbs emitted infrared radiation, all 64 measurements are passed on for signal amplification. Then, amplified signals pass to the analog-to-digital converter and are referenced against a thermistor value. Finally, digital signals are compared against stored values and temperature values are output via an I2C interface directly to a microcontroller.
