The Harwin Kona right-angle series is an innovative extension of the Kona product family. The series offers crucial solutions for space-constrained applications with height or cabling limitations that require board edge mount connectors for simplified panel integration and efficient PCB routing. These variants significantly enhance the capabilities of the Kona series, designed explicitly for high-current power transmission and reliable performance in extreme environmental conditions.

Electrically, the Kona series boasts the highest current rating per contact from Harwin, achieving up to 60 A per contact simultaneously. With an 8.5 mm pitch, it delivers an impressive power density of 121 A per inch or 48 A per centimeter for the four-contact model, making it a leader in the Harwin portfolio. It can withstand a maximum voltage of 3,000 V_AC/DC for one minute and has a working voltage of 1,500 V_AC/DC at sea level.

Mechanically and environmentally, these connectors offer extreme resilience. They operate within a wide temperature range of -65°C to +150°C and can endure vibrations of 10 Hz to 2,000 Hz at 20 g and shocks of 100 g for 6 ms. With a durability of 250 mating cycles, Kona connectors are built for longevity. The design is compact and lightweight; a mated pair of four-contact connectors weighs merely 25 g, comparable to a standard AA battery. This minimal weight and small footprint optimize PCB real estate, freeing up space and weight for other critical functions.

Key features include individually shrouded and recessed contacts to prevent accidental touch and protection against damage, and polarizing features to ensure correct mating.
