G3VM MOSFET Relays

Omron's G3VM MOSFET relay family includes more than 160 devices that handle a wide range of voltages and currents. They are perfectly suited for Automated Test Equipment, Medical Equipment, Instrumentation, Security Equipment, Automated Meter Reading, Automotive Diagnostic Equipment and Communications. Available with a 1 Pole configuration in PCB, SMT, DIP, SOP, SSOP, USOP, VSON and SVSON packaging. Select models have 2 independently controlled outputs in a single package. Other options include current limiting, high dielectric voltage withstand, normally open and normally closed contact forms, high voltage and current load handling and high-speed switching.

Wide range of packages: DIP, SOP, SSOP, USOP, VSON, and S-VSON package is the smallest in the industry: 2 x 1.45 x 1.65 mm Single- and dual-contact models available with both NO and NC contacts ON-resistance as low as 5 mΩ (typical). OFF-state capacitance as low as 0.3 pF (typical). Trigger LED Forward Currents as low as 0.2 mA Switching times down to 0.2 ms. Also available models including current limiting functions 100,000 hours of continuous operation. Dielectric strength up to 5,000 Vac for 1 second. Models switching up to 10A* in such small package.

Ultra small Size and Weight

In addition to the SSOP and USOP, we have introduced the ultra-compact VSON and S-VSON packages, contributing to downsizing of equipment.

High Insulation

MOSFET relays offer great I/O isolation due to its operational principle. It turns the voltage into the light and transfer by the light signal; Therefore, input and output are isolated. The standard models offer 2,500 Vrms between input and output. Superior 5,000 VAC products are also available. 3,750 VAC products have also been added to the SOP package series.

Low driving current

Realizing energy saving with standard driving current of 2-15 mA. Ultrasensitive models are also available featuring Drive Currents as low as 0.2 mA(max).

Silent operation

As MOSFET Relays do not have mechanical contacts, by using a MOSFET instead of an electromechanical relay, it is possible to eliminate switching noise in your applications.

Long operating life

MOSFET Relays use light signal instead of moveable contacts; avoiding reduction of life caused by contact wear, substantially increasing operational life.

High-speed Switching

Comparing with the switching time of 3 to 5 ms of a mechanical relay, its switching time is shortened to 0.2 ms (SSOP, USOP, VSON). Achieving quick response performance.

Small leakage current

Can withstand external surge current without addition of snubber circuit. Under normal conditions, the typical leakage current is about 1 nA or below.

Control the micro analog signal correctly

Comparing with the triac, MOSFET greatly reduces the dead zone. The input waveform of micro analog signal does not suffer distortion as it does with a triac and is basically converted into output waveform without distortion.

Excellent shock resistance

All the internal parts use casting method, and there are no movable parts in it, so it has excellent shock and vibration resistance.
