Host processors can have difficulty with timing settings required when bit-banging 1-Wire commands which can result in host processor overhead. Connectivity between different interfaces and communication protocols can be a hurdle. The DS2485 offers internal user-adjustable 1-Wire timing settings allow the designer to offload the host processor from generating time-critical 1-Wire waveforms. Selectable active or passive 1-wire pullup features support power delivery for 1-Wire devices that require this for EEPROMs and cryptographic computations.
