AK975x Infrared Sensors for Human Sensing

New human presence sensors enabling the future of IoT, connected home and security applications

The AK975x from AKM Semiconductor offers excellent choices for multiple IoT applications with its low power and compact IR sensor ICs. With a distance of 1 m, the AK9750 can detect a human presence in motion but also not in motion as it converts the IR of the human body to electrical signal directly. It consumes as little as 100 µA(max) in Continuous mode and 1 µA(max) in Power Down mode. The AK9752 is capable of human detection through glass for distance of approx. 1 m. It is in a compact SON-6 package, the world's smallest class for a single-chip IR sensor. The AK9753 covers longer distances of 3 m+ using an external optical lens. It is suitable for human detection in home and business security systems.

The AK9750 is an ultra-low-power and compact infrared-ray (IR) sensor module. It is composed of four quantum IR sensors and an integrated circuit (IC) for characteristic compensation. The four IR sensors’ offset and gain variations are calibrated at shipment. An integral analog-to-digital converter provides 16-bits data outputs. Additional integrated features include a field of view limiter and an optical filter. The AK9750 is suitable for applications including stationary human detection.
