World Maker Faire New York is almost here. I thought I would share a sneak peek into what we have up our sleeves this year. As anyone who has ever been to a Maker Faire or watched the Digi-Key sponsored live stream could tell you, there is a lot going on! There is no difference this year.
First off, Maker Shed! We will have a handful of Digi-Key products in the Maker Shed this year. This is something that has been asked for at every show. We love to demonstrate the great technology we have to offer, and now we will be able to sell it at the show. A few of the products that will be offered will be: Adafruit Circuit Playground Express, Adafruit Crickit, Raspberry Pi 3 model B+, Pimoroni Pi Zero W kits, Neopixel LED strips, and so much more.
Want to see how to build a light-up skateboard in Augmented Reality? We have a very fun and interactive way to make this happen. This project will walk you through the steps to find a project, order the parts, build it, then see it come to life.
Yes, the infamous Prize Garage is back. We will be giving away prizes all weekend long. Everything from a Circuit Playground to an Oculus Go setup.
Other demos we are showing in our booth include: the Lulzbot Mini 2 3D printer, Bantam Tools desktop pcb mill, Micro:bit, Circuit Playground, Cypress/SparkFun Pioneer board using PSoC 4 and 6, Breadware IoT kit, and much more.
Tune in for the Digi-Key sponsored live broadcast Saturday at 2:00 ET to see Make: Matt Stultz and me talk about the top 5 boards you must have in your toolbox.
We will also be hosting a Micro:bit workshop on Sunday to show how easy the Micro:bit is to program using Make:code. This environment allows anyone to program using block-based programing. In our workshop, we will be using the Kitronik Zip Halo and some 3D printed parts to make a fun coaster.
Be sure to stop by our booth next to the Make: Electronics stage to check out everything listed here and much more!!!
